Created from 4K 3D scans of real world surfaces, Skyland offers the most realistic visual overhaul in Skyrim with a 2k and 1k package depending on your needs. From cities, towns, and villages to forts, dungeons, and caves. Landscapes from the Rift to the Reach and beyond, Skyland retextures every architectural and landscape surface in. In short, Skyland AIO retextures ALL landscape and architecture textures in the game.

Compatibility

  • Skyland is compatible with any and every mod, including city overhauls. Use it as a base or to overwrite whatever base you use like Noble. Use it as a standalone. Works seamlessly with SMIM, HPP, and other texture and mesh mods as long as those mods to not change mesh and/or texture paths and as long as you overwrite those mods with Skyland.

  • If you use RW2 and install Skyland Watercolor, place the watercolor directly after RW2. As per RW2 instructions, place RW2 and Skyland Watercolor towards bottom of load order after any other mod that offers landscape edits such as grass patches.

  • Skyland Lit Road Signs is not compatible with mods that do the same thing or move the road signs to new locations like Point the Way does. It is compatible with LOSII, but you'll have two lights at sign locations and it'll be really bright.

  • Skyland is designed to work as a stand alone although will work seamlessly in large load orders that cover the same things. With that said, many mods make small tweaks. Skyland is not designed to fix or work seamlessly with them. Some compatibility was built in to work with larger, more popular mods like RW2, Water for ENB, Better Dynamic Snow, and Simplicity of Snow.

  • No LODs Included. This is PC. You should be running SSELODgen at a minimum

Install

Select if you want the 2k (default) or 1k package depending on your needs and download manually or with your mod program of choice (MO2 or Vortex). Simply follow the prompts with the FOMOD installer. EASY! Can install mid play through. Does not effect NPCs, works with JK seamlessly.

If you're using Water for ENB, select the "Vanilla Water" option.

If updating, you'll notice the absence of the Skyland esp file. This has been removed as it's no longer needed. It is safe to update Skyland as it will not effect your save.

You'll may get a couple ESP files when installing Skyland AIO
  • Skyland Watercolor ESP - this is the esp file to recolor your water. If you do not use RW,
  • iNeed, or Water for ENB, you can place this pretty much anywhere. IF YOU
  • USE any of those mods listed, place this esp after them.
  • Skyyland Lit Road Signs ESP - This is the esp file that adds lanterns to road signs. You can place this anywhere.

LODs

This is a texture overhaul mod and replaces textures in loaded cells. As such, I don't offer support for LOD generation. I've tried to keep most of the brightness and gamma ranges the same as vanilla textures so there shouldn't be much issue there. If you have issues generating LODs, please refer to those LOD mod pages and/or communities.

Here is a great resource for generating LODs
Open search and type in "Running XLODgen" and start there.

Issues

Since 2016, when this mod was released, it has gone through a vast array of changes, updates, fixes, and more. From LE and SE to AE and after millions of downloads on Xbox and PC and in countless load orders, I can say 99.999999% of bug reports are due to a bad load order or another mod messing something up. Either missing requirements, a mod with meshes that altered a texture file path, and so forth. SO...please read below if you want me to consider the bug reports.

If you have a bug, ensure that it's actually a Skyland bug. Literally remove ALL of your mods, or disable them and run only Skyland with a new save. If the issue is still there. Turn off Skyland and see if it's in your vanilla base game. If the problem is removed, post an image with Skyland and only Skyland installed and another picture of the vanilla base game with the problem gone. Then submit as a bug reoport. Doing that will help me zero in on the issue and fix it.

Not doing this will have the bug report being removed. The reason is more people are reporting bugs and the conversation turns into a load order rescue mission or finding out another mod has issues. If this mod works as a standalone and the only mod in your load order, then this mod won't be your issue.
